Botanical Name: Nereocystis
Origin: Canada, West Coast
Production: Hand-picked, heat cured, from the clean, cold waters of Vancouver Island's West coast.
Qualities: Bull kelp is low in fat, relatively high in protein, and is a good source of iron, iodine, potassium, magnesium, and a variety of antioxidants. It has a salty flavour that is a versatile addition to many recipes.
Common Use: Bull kelp adds great flavour to salads, rice dishes, casseroles, and more.
