Production: Whole dates, pitted, dried, and ground.
Dates are, by general consensus, the world’s oldest known fruit. They have been grown throughout the Middle East and North Africa for over 6,000 years, a dietary staple and incorporated into almost every meal or eaten alone. Ancient cultures referred to date palms as “the tree of life”. Traditionally, dates were used to break fasts as they have high carbohydrate and sugar contents, immediately raising blood sugars and providing instantaneous energy.
Qualities: Date sugar is a whole food sugar that contains all the health benefits of dates, including the fiber, and minerals such as potassium, magnesium, and manganese.
Common Use: Makes for a great whole food sweetener and sugar substitute
Storage: This is an unrefined product and may contains clumps or be prone to clumping. It is important to store in a cool, dry, dark place in a well sealed container.

CanadaAmazing to use instead of sugar!
So far I've used this instead of sugar to make hazelnut chocolate mousse, apple crisp and cookies. It works well and tastes great! I like that it has more nutrients than regular sugar.

Organic Date Sugar. This date sugar is not terribly sweet but it does add a unique crunch and flavour sprinkled on top of porridge.

I found that its not as sweet as regular sugar but that is fine with me. I used it in cakes and mini pumpkin pies and they turned out great.
