ORGANIC HOJICHA GREEN TEA
Ingredients: roasted green tea leaves
Country of Origin: China
Production: Hojicha is produced most often using 3rd flush Bancha leaves (last harvest) which are then roasted in a porcelain pot over charcoal as opposed to steaming the freshly plucked leaves which is the traditional method of Japanese style green tea production. The tea is then fired at a high temperature, altering the leaf color tints from green to reddish-brown. This intense roasting process removes much of the tea's caffeine and replaces the vegetative tones of standard green tea with a toasty, slightly caramel or cinnamon-like flavor.
Common Use: Because of its mildness, Hojicha is a popular tea to serve during the evening meal and even preferred for children and the elderly.
Storage: store in a cool, dry, dark place in a well-sealed container.

I was originally disappointed about no having the Sencha tea in stock, since I bought it and got hooked as a low acid alternative to coffee. However, I tried this tea out and found it quite delightful, both are beautiful but nice to know OM keeps on finding quality stuff, rock on!
