Hurry up! Sales Ends In
Ingredients: Dried yeast, niacin (B3), pyridoxine hydrochloride (B6), thiamine hydrochloride (B1), riboflavin (B2), folic acid, cyanocobalamin (B12)
Non-GMO, naturally Gluten free, low in fat and salt, no added preservatives, flavors or colors
Production: pure strains of Saccharomyces cerevisiae are grown on mixtures of cane and beet molasses. After the fermentation process is completed, "Cream yeast" is heated and held at pasteurization temperatures for a period long enough to inactivate the yeast. During this holding period, all necessary vitamins are added. After drum drying, the yeast is flaked or ground and is now ready for consumption.
Properties: Nutritional Yeast is a powdered yeast without leavening power and is appreciated for its high protein content (~ 50% protein by weight) and is rich in B-complex vitamins that are important for normal and healthy body functions. It contains other beneficial components, such as Beta-1,3 glucan and mannan, complex carbohydrates known to improve the immune response and help maintain healthy cholesterol levels; Trehalose, a disaccharide that helps maintain the health of brain cells; and Glutathione, an antioxidant that plays an important role in cellular defense mechanisms (~2.5mg/g)
Common Use: not only can nutritional yeast be considered a "superfood", providing many nutritional benefits, it also enhances the flavor of many dishes, drinks, dressings, sauces, and snacks. Nutritional yeast has a nutty or cheesy flavor which makes it popular as an ingredient in cheese substitutes.
Storage: Store in an airtight container away from direct heat or light.

Sad that I didn't read the notes for this...
I bought this thinking that it was the NON-fortified style of Nutritional Yeast. Darn, darn, it isn't! It is the FORTIFIED type meaning, the vitamins are synthetic and of lower quality than if it was naturally containing the nutrients because of how it was grown. This means that I can't absorb the B12 or the B6 and... you too might not be able to. You see, there is a genetic SNP which makes it so a large portion of people need a specific "type" of both these B vitamins, and unfortunately, the type in fortified nutritional yeast is NOT the right kind. So, sadly, I will have to buy from Whole Foods and give these to some friend of mine who doesn't care. Not the fault of OM, totally my fault. However, I think they should try to sell the higher quality one as well, or in place. Actually, when I think about it, it makes me question other items I bought, for their quality too. Better to sell quality the whole way through your product line than to have customers start to question things. Other than this item, so far, I am really happy with my order!!
