Description: Maca is a root vegetable in the radish family that has been cultivated in the high Andes of Peru for over 2,000 years. It thrives in challenging conditions at elevations between 10,000 and 15,000 feet, where few other crops grow. Traditionally farmed using sustainable practices, maca provides a reliable income for local communities. This raw maca powder is carefully dried and never heated above 103°F (45°C), helping preserve enzymes and nutrients at optimal levels.
Processing: The roots are harvested, dried, and finely ground into a powder without the use of heat to maintain their raw status. While generally well tolerated, raw maca may cause mild indigestion in some individuals. For those with sensitive digestion, gelatinized maca may be a preferable option.
Common Use: Maca powder has a naturally sweet, malt-like flavor reminiscent of toasted oats. Traditionally consumed cooked or ground into flour, today it is commonly added to smoothies, energy bars, baked goods, raw treats, and beverages.
Qualities: Maca root is a nutrient-dense food, naturally high in essential minerals including calcium, potassium, magnesium, iron, phosphorus, and zinc. Storage: Store in a sealed container in a cool, dry, and dark place. Refrigeration is not required.

A teaspoon per day keeps the energy OK>
I have ben using this product for many years now ad this I my second time ordering it from Organic Matters. price was good, service and delivery are excellent. I use the product by putting a heaped teaspoon in my herbal tea in the mornings. I feel that it keeps my energy levels up and it makes me feel good, all around.

Great product, good deal
I usually purchase Peruvian Maca powder through Costco or through our local health food store,. Then I discovered OM Foods on line and was pleasantly surprised about the much lower price I was charged . Still top quality and I use it every day in my morning herbal tea or in some water, where I dissolve it. On. My next visit to Nelson, I hope to stock up on some other products too and thus save the postage!
