Beluga lentils are a small, nutritious legume that have a rich, earthy flavor and a unique, glossy appearance. They are a great source of protein, fiber, and various essential vitamins and minerals. One serving of these lentils (about 1/2 cup) contains around 8 grams of protein, 7 grams of fiber, and a variety of nutrients including iron, folate, and manganese.
Black Beluga lentils have a long history, with evidence of their cultivation dating back to ancient civilizations. They have been a staple food in many cultures around the world and are often used in dishes like soups, stews, and salads.
There are many delicious ways to incorporate black Beluga lentils into your cooking. Some popular recipes include black Beluga lentil soup, black Beluga lentil salad with roasted vegetables, and black Beluga lentil and quinoa bowls. To prepare black Beluga lentils, simply rinse them in cold water and add them to your recipe of choice. They can be cooked on the stovetop or in a pressure cooker and take around 20-30 minutes to cook.
To preserve the quality and freshness of your black Beluga lentils, it is best to store them in an airtight container in a cool, dry place. They can also be stored in the refrigerator or freezer to extend their shelf life.

Beluga organic lentils
good, use in all soups, such a nice contrast and cook fast.

Didn't taste any difference
I confess, I bought 'em because they were pretty. But they didn't taste any different to me than other lentils - they tasted as good as other lentils, but I get a peppery taste from French Lentils, at least the ones from OM Foods, that I particularily like. I notice that all the lentils from here are exceptionally clean, no pebbles or refuse in them :-) I use them for making veggie burgers, and for breakfast I usually have a lentil salad with olive oil, tzatziki, and minced tomatoes, celery, and corn. I started to eat lentils on my endocrineologist's advice becaue as a vegan I was getting only 1.5% protein, and after changing my diet I am getting 48% :-)

Black lentil
These lentils are so delicious.. I use them to make dal makhani

Tasty, black, spicy and clean
These lentils have been well cleaned, are very black and shiny and tasty and turn the water they are boiled in black as well. Make a great lentil soup/stew. A really nice staple alone or mixed with other grains/legumes/seeds and stuff.

Beluga lentils
A nice alternative lentil that cook up quickly & hold they shape well. Unfortunately they lose their lovely black color during cooking and become a dull washed out dark green.
