These seem to be a lesser quality than locally available organic black beans. They take a long time to soften-up while cooking, a property I associate with dry beans being stored too long/ being too old. My batch were from China. We have to cook them until the beans split open or they are too dry/ hard to eat. Bought a small quantity as a tester and likely won't repurchase.
