Botanical Name: Brassica oleracea
Origin: USA
Qualities: Broccoli sprouts are the germinated seeds of broccoli that have a radishy taste and look similar to alfalfa sprouts. They are rich in beta-carotene and vitamins C, E, K and A and have among the highest concentrations of sulforaphane, a dietary component of cruciferous vegetables that has been shown to benefit autism and suppress the ability of breast cancer stem cells to form tumors. Some studies suggest that consumption of broccoli sprouts may improve survival rates of bladder cancer patients, help protect skin cells from sun damage, and potentially boost liver detoxification. Check out “Biggest Nutrition Bang for your Buck” for additional nutrition info.
Common Use: Broccoli sprouting seeds should be soaked for 4-6 hours, and will sprout in 5-7 days. They need to be thoroughly rinsed with cool, clean water every 8-12 hours. Refrigerate your sprouts after their final rinse.
Storage: Store in a cool, dry place in an airtight container.

Broccoli sorouting seeds
I was really looking forward to these as eating mature broccoli is distasteful for me. I found they are particularly difficult to sprout, and so have not been able to enjoy them

Organic broccoli seeds
Only about one quarter of the seeds sprouted. Taking longer than expected. The smell was really bad. Had to dump it all. The mixed sprouts were very good.
