Ingredients: green peas
Process: steamed, pressed, and dehydrated
Directions: just add hot water and let sit for 3 minutes until thick. Or you can heat up water on the stove and stir in the flakes. Add spices as you like and you have a delicious instant split pea soup or sauce/dip (if you use less water). Great for camping!
Storage: Store in a cool, dry, dark location (the lovely green color will fade if exposed to light), in a well-sealed container.

I created a one person meal out of these for a long distance backpacking trip and it soon became one of my favorite meals! Organic Maters use to sell a Veggie Broth Powder blend which I used as a base and added the green pea flakes plus fresh ground black pepper to one resealable bag. In another bag, I added brown instant rice and small pieces of turkey jerky. In camp,I would bring the rice and turkey jerky to a boil, turn off the stove and let it sit to re-hydrate for 8 minutes, then add the green peas mixture and let it sit for a couple more minutes. What I liked was the taste and texture, just like pea soup, if I needed more body hydration, i would add more water.YUM
